Theater Ushering- My team and I were in charge of seating people in our school play. We ensured a respectable environment by making sure everyone had their phones but away and they were quiet. This experience sharpened my leadership skills because I was in charge of the team and also created and enforced the rules.
Red Cross Blood Drive- Our school held a blood drive and a few of my peers and I assisted them with setting up and we also took care of people after they donated. This helped develop my communications skills because I had to act quickly if donors passed out and talk to the staff about what was happening.
Homeless Shelter Donation- Once in a while I donate essential supplies like toothbrushes, shampoo and other personal hygiene supplies to a Women's homeless shelter.
St John's Clinic- This summer I volunteered my time at a clinic. I assisted them by filing paper work, taking phone calls, and helping patients and other clinics fill out correct patient information and I even got to experience some nurses working in the lab! This really taught me to be responsible and committed. They expected me to be there on time everyday and keep an open mind.
